2012 season
Thursday, February 09, 2012
With the start of the 2012
season just around the
corner we are looking
forward to our second year
in 305 sprint car racing.
We
are pleased to announce that
NORTHLAND OIL, HARMON
AUTOGLASS, REEDS AUTOMOTIVE
REPAIR, LAZER CAR WASH,
MOTOR INN of KNOXVILLE and
ENGLISH CREEK SPEEDWAY will
be on board with us again
for the 2012 season. We
are truly proud to announce
that we have joined forces
with MIDSTATE MACHINE for
our motor program. Seeing
that Midstate uses Northland
Oil products it was just a
natural decision. With the
commitment that John Davis
and his people have you know
you are going to get the
best. The crew will stay
intact from the 2011 season
with the possible addition
of Brian Gibson of
Knoxville. Our goal for
the 2012 season is to be on
the podium at Knoxville and
finish in the top 5 in
points. We are also going to
try and make more races at
different tracks. We are
truly excited about the
upcoming season so watch for
the Midstate Machine,
Northland Oil, Lazer Car
Wash, Motor Inn and Harmon
Autoclass 92c. You can
keep up with us and get you
Knoxville tickets at.

Week 3 with the 92c team
at Knoxville Raceway
First off the Goodno
Promotion, Harmon Autoglass
of Pella and Knoxville,
Reeds Automotive repair,
Lazer Car Wash of Knoxville,
Michael Automotive
Authority, Northland Oil,
Motors Inn of Knoxville,
QTC, DPLM and English Creek
Speedway 92c
Cody Ambers
team would like to
congratulate
Jamie Ball
who we competed with at
English Creek Speedway for
his first main event win on
the famed half mile.
The night started out with
most of the pit crew having
to work or other
commitments. But thanks to
Ricky Montgomery
and his father and other
people at the track we
accomplished what needed to
be done.
First up was
hot laps/qualifying the 92c
was in the last 305 session
where we were third quick,
put us eighth quick out of
18 cars which was an
improvement over last week.
With our qualifying position
gave us a front row inside
for the second heat. That
gave Cody the best starting
position in his shot sprint
car career.
With an 8
inversion and the number six
qualifier Nate VanHaaften
doing double duty in his 360
and a 305 having trouble he
would return to the pits
before they could get the
race started. With
VanHaaften in the pits that
would move second quick
qualifier
Matthew Stelzer
alongside the 92c on the
front row. When the green
flag dropped Cody messed the
low grove entering turn one
falling back to 5th. Once he
gathered it up began gaining
some spots back. After
getting back to third the
red flag came out for Matt
Stehenson who got upside
down in turn four. While the
restart line up would put
Cody’s brother Alan in the
Stivers Ford Lincoln of
Waukee, Graham Tire 93a in
fourth behind the 92c. At
the restart
Alan Ambers
motored by on the outside
getting a good run down the
back stretch. With tow lap
to go Cody keep digging as
they came for the checked
Cody got to the inside of
Alan making it a wheel to
wheel finish with Alan
taking the spot. It was
amazing to hear the crowed
cheering when there are two
cars racing that hard for a
spot. To me that shows how
knowledgeable the fans at
Knoxville are with the first
and second place checking
out they recognized the race
was for third.
The
main event would see the
Goodno Promotion, Harmon
Autoglass of Pella and
Knoxville, Reeds Automotive
repair, Lazer Car Wash of
Knoxville, Michael
Automotive Authority,
Northland Oil, Motors Inn of
Knoxville, QTC, DPLM and
English Creek Speedway 92c
Cody Ambers
team starting 8th fourth row
inside. With the place to be
was on the bottom the front
car jammed up the bottom
allowing the outside cars to
get a good run. With the 92c
ending up 11th after lap
one. The 92c keep working on
finding the lined that
worked best for the setup on
car and continued to gain on
the car ahead. After passing
for tenth Cody set sail for
the 9th place car with a
hand full of laps left.
After catching
Bob Hildreth
in his 55kc with a couple
laps left and both car
running on the bottom Cody
made his move to the outside
in turns three and four
getting the run off the
corner taking over for the
9th place finish.
All
in all it was a good night
for the 92c team with Cody
saying he learned a lot
about how to race on the
bottom of a race track. The
team has finished in the top
ten two weeks in a row which
has kept them in the top ten
in points.
Once again
we would like to thank
Goodno Promotion, Harmon
Autoglass of Pella and
Knoxville, Reeds Automotive
repair, Lazer Car Wash of
Knoxville, Michael
Automotive Authority,
Northland Oil, Motors Inn of
Knoxville, QTC, DPLM and
English Creek Speedway for
their support.

you would like to get in on
the ground floor of an up
and coming race team here is
